Art Lab: Imagination in Action & Creativity with Heart

Join Art Lab Amsterdam’s inspiring after-school arts education and give your child a joyful space to grow creatively. With over 15 years of experience working with children (and two teens of her own!), Julia Mandle, the founder and main instructor brings warmth, humour, and deep artistic knowledge into every session.

Our weekly classes are designed to keep children open, curious, and expressive—making art from the inside out.

This fall, we’re focusing on one of the most exciting and relatable subjects: the human face! Through drawing, collage, and sculpture, students will explore portraiture in playful and thoughtful ways, learning to express emotion, identity, and story. Special here is that each child receive's their own professional sketchbook in which they develop ideas each week. The first class will bring inspiration from Action Painting- and literally paint will be spinning dynamically!

Each season, Julia designs a fresh heart-based curriculum rooted in art history, contemporary culture, and hands-on techniques.

Classes begin with playful sketching warm-ups, followed by a main project, and end with group reflection—all in a relaxed and social atmosphere. Music, storytelling, and freedom of expression are key ingredients in the studio.
