Art Lab: For Curious Minds and Creative Hearts

Give your child a warm, inspiring afterschool activity this winter/spring with Art Lab Amsterdam.

Classes are led by artist and educator Julia Mandle—founder, curriculum designer, MFA-trained artist with 15+ years of teaching experience—together with a talented illustrator/collage artist who has been specially trained in the Art Lab teaching approach. Together, they offer children a richly guided, heart-based art experience.

Winter & Spring Theme: LIGHT, MOVEMENT & SEASONAL FEELINGS

This two-term course explores how winter and spring shape the world around us—and inside us.

Children develop confidence, expression, and creativity through:

• Human Body in Space & Movement
• Light & Shadow Explorations + Amsterdam Light Festival inspiration
• Night Animals & Winter Mood
• Inside-Out Seasonal Drawing, including one special outdoor class to reflect the feeling of winter shifting into spring.

Each week builds artistic skills while celebrating experimentation and personal expression.

What a Class Looks Like:

• Playful sketching warm-ups
• A guided main project using seasonal themes
• Group reflection to grow empathy and confidence
• A warm, relaxed studio atmosphere—mistakes welcome!
